D.D.S., M.S., F.A.C.P. "Full Mouth Reconstruction Via Esthetic-Functionally Stable-Complete Dentures and Implant Prostheses" This course will provide strategies for the Doctor / Technologist Team to provide highly esthetic and functionally stable complete dentures. The presented Treatment Planning Guidelines for implant-retained/borne prostheses will give the doctor/technologist confidence to incorporate implants into their armamentarium. The clinical knowledge attained by the technologist will facilitate greater and more effective communication with the doctor. Strategies will be discussed on how Doctors can build a successful and rewarding complete denture component to their practice. Dr. Williamson is a native Texan and graduate of Texas A&M University. He received his D.D.S. from The University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. He maintained a solo general practice in College Station for 17 years before returning to graduate school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Lincoln. Dr. Williamson holds a certificate in prosthodontics and an M.S. in Oral Biology; he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Williamson lectures nationally and internationally to universities, study groups, societies and dental laboratory associations on complete denture, removable partial denture, implant prosthodontic care and other restorative options. He is also an American Dental Association CELL Seminar Series Speaker. Currently, Dr. Williamson is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family Dentistry. The majority of his teaching time is devoted to senior pre-doctoral students in both didactic and clinical training. Dr. Williamson provides fixed, removable and implant prosthodontic care in a University of Iowa-based dental practice.
D.D.S., Ph.D. (U. Bris), F.R.C.D. (C), F.A.D.I., M.I.C.C.M.O. "The Foundations and Methods in Creating an Aesthetic Practice" Norman Thomas graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery with honours and double Gold Medals in 1957. Dr. Thomas was awarded a Nuffield Fellowship (Oxford) to complete an honours degree in medical sciences in 1960. Between 1960 and 1974, he pursued residency and research programs at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, The Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Medical College of Virginia, USA and the University of Alberta where he is now Professor Emeritus. From 1970 to 2002, Dr. Thomas served on the Medical Research Council of Canada, The National Institute of Health, USA and the Canadian Dental Association gaining a Certificate of Merit from the latter and several Fellowships in the medical sciences and dentistry. He is a Life Member of the Alberta Dental Association and retired from clinical practice in 2002. In 1988, Dr. Thomas was appointed Chancellor of the International College of Head and Neck Orthopedics and in that capacity, has lectured in the USA, Europe, Australia and Asia. He was awarded a Ph.D degree in Oral Medicine for research on process and mechanism of tooth eruption. |
