1. Veneers are supplied ETCHED on the inner surface
  2. Apply SILANE coupling agent.
  3. Place retraction cords to prevent seepage into gingival margins that may hamper bonding. Avoid using hemostatic agents containing iron or aluminum (will stain under teeth).
  4. Clean teeth to be veneered with moist flour of pumice.
  5. Try veneers on one by one, adjusting contacts if necessary. Place water on internal surface to transfer color from tooth to veneer and for slight retention.
  6. Try all veneers on teeth together. Check for interproximal binding. If adjustment is necessary, trim contact areas with super fine diamonds and water.
  7. Ideally your veneer cementation kit will contain a water-soluble try-in paste. First use the shade of the veneer on one veneer to make an initial determination of appropriate shade. Alterations in value (brightness) are made by using more opaque shades in the base and/or selecting brighter shades of cement (B1 is the brightest). If you do not have try-in pastes, try-in veneer with selected shade of composite. Be sure to mix enough composite to bond all facings. Moisten tooth and etched veneer surface with water to avoid inadvertent bonding. Do no leave veneer in place more than a few seconds. Do not shine operating light directly on veneers, this will initiate cure.
  8. Once shade is confirmed, clean veneers in acetone or Mirage veneer cleaner, rinse and blow dry. Re-apply silane bond enhancer.
  9. Clean teeth with oil free pumice and water or intra-oral sandblaster. Isolate teeth with cotton rolls, etch teeth 30 to 60 seconds, wash for 30 seconds and blow dry.
  10. Place extremely thin metal or mylar strips between teeth being veneered and adjacent teeth to avoid bridging.
  11. Paint unfilled resin on inside of veneer and on etched tooth surface. Gently blow off excess from both tooth and veneer.
  12. Load veneer with selected shade of composite. Gently slide the veneer onto the tooth along the path of insertion with a vibrating motion. Expel excess resin from all margins to ensure no air is trapped under the facing. Remove gross excess with a blunt instrument or cotton roll. Tack veneer in place with curing light for 20 seconds.
  13. Carefully remove mylar strips. Seal the margins and remove excess filled resin with a fine brush wetted with unfilled resin passed across the margin at 90° to the margin. Completely cure 60 seconds on all surfaces.
  14. Once veneers are totally cured, finish margins with reciprocating diamonds or fine diamonds and finishing strips. Polish veneers with polishing paste to restore glaze.

CAUTION: DO NOT OVERHEAT VENEER WHEN FINISHING OR POLISHING.

INSTRUCT PATIENT TO AVOID EXCESSIVE CHEWING FORCES FOR 24 HOURS TO ALLOW SILANE BOND TO MATURE.
