Cristobal® +

“While I am certainly passionate about anterior aesthetic dentistry, there is quite a bit of posterior aesthetics to be performed for our guests. The guest in Case 1 came in desiring improvement of her lower left arch, as this was the only quadrant with any restorations. She wanted to make this side look natural. The treatment plan included a direct composite on tooth #17, a Cristobal+ Onlay for #’s 18, 19 and 20. These were chosen for superior polishability, marginal integrity and favorable wear. As you can see, we achieved our goal of a beautiful, natural looking quadrant.

Case 2 - Before and After

In Case 2, this emergency guest came in, on a personal referral, concerned about the broken cusp on tooth #15. While reviewing the intra-oral camera pictures on our large screen TV, we noticed a crack on the distal marginal ridge of tooth #14. Since it would be much more convenient for our guest, these teeth were treated at the same time with Cristobal+. During tooth preparation, several other cracks were noted. Not only did we achieve a fine aesthetic result, but our conservative preparations may have saved her from more extensive care in the future.

With the number of failing amalgams that our guests have, let’s not forget this critically important aspect of aesthetic dentistry. My sincere thanks to all who have helped me with these cases, from the team in my office, to Ulf, Jurgen and my team at Aurum Ceramic/Classic.”
