“This male patient was extremely unhappy with his
intraoral condition to say nothing of his smile. As his “Before” photos
graphically illustrate, he was in a state of general hard and soft
issue disrepair with multiple areas of recurrent decay, new caries
and old restorations breaking down. He simply wanted his mouth restored ‘back
to health’.
One alternative treatment plan might have involved partial dentures
but both the patient and I felt that this was less than an ideal
solution. A TENS showed that he was already very close to his correct
vertical and golden proportions, so there was no need to open his
bite. After we took care of his periodontal issues, all of his remaining
teeth were prepped following the LVI recommended protocol for full
mouth reconstruction. The smile was restored with a combination of
two all-ceramic bridges (Aurum Ceramic’s Contessa Zirconia
bridges from #3 to 5 and #28 to 30) and IPS Empress restorations
on the remaining teeth.
This patient was an interesting contrast in that he wanted his teeth ‘to
look as natural as possible’ – no bleached shades for
him! We accomplished this by blending C140, C130 and C120 from gingival
to incisal creating a final result that he was incredibly pleased
with. I would like to thank Ulf and the Aurum Ceramic Advanced Esthetic
Team for making this one of the most satisfying and ‘most natural’ cases
I have ever had the pleasure of completing.”
