With the new veneers, I was able to improve the width to length proportions,
accomplishing a more aesthetic result. Her previous veneers had a more
square appearance. I also performed a slight gingivoplasty to improve
the gingival contour. IPS Empress was employed with Chromascop shades
030 for the body and 040 for the cervical, with light incisal translucency
and medium texture.
The results were very rewarding. I was glad that I had the cosmetic
training to understand why eight were necessary to complete the smile.
Because Aurum Ceramic/Classic technicians have completed the same training
we have, they are able to produce exactly what I ask for, making dentistry
enjoyable and predictable.
This patient has become one of our best models for veneers. We enjoy
taking our own portrait photography when our cases are done. It's more
convenient for the patient and they seem to enjoy it. In addition, it
is a great advertisement to display your own work."

"A patient of record for about five years, this patient had
composite veneers on teeth #6 - #11 that were approximately 10
years old and had a history of repairs. Generally, his teeth had
a mild tetracycline stain. The width to length proportions were
reasonable. Tooth #9 was in lingual version and alignment would
need to be corrected again with the porcelain veneers.
Once again, my training at LVI gave me the skills and confidence
to recommend that the patient replace the composite veneers. Because
of the mild tetracycline staining, I felt that I could achieve
a more esthetic result with porcelain veneers. I also recommended
that we include veneers on #5 and #12 to fill out the smile better
and mask the tetracycline stain.
After FX imaging, the patient and I liked the "enhanced" smile
design. We chose Chromascop shade 110 for the body and 120 for
the gingiva with mild translucency. A diagnostic wax-up was fabricated
by Aurum Ceramic/Classic to assure simple and beautiful temps.
IPS Empress was chosen for the veneers.

The results were very pleasing. The patient even liked the temporaries
better than the old composite veneers. As he wrote in his testimonial,
'As you know I was apprehensive about the procedure but I am very happy
I listened to your recommendations. The results exceeded my expectations.'
These types of cases and hearing those kind words makes my job rewarding.
Thanks to Aurum Ceramic/Classic and the great job they do, my job is
also made a lot easier."

We use B/W full-face portraits in our
presentations finding that they allow the patient to concentrate
on the smile line and overall appearance without the distractions
of hair color, etc. Just a different approach that we find successful. |
