IPS Empress®

“This patient was extremely self-conscious about his smile and as a result, was patently shy and withdrawn. He had a number of issues: the very large diastemas between all of his anterior teeth; severe tetracycline staining; and peg laterals on both sides of his smile. Looking for an esthetic solution, he originally asked about whitening but with the tetracycline staining alone, this just wasn’t an option. After completing a comprehensive examination and a full set of diagnostic x-rays, we determined both his vertical and bite were OK. We then discussed treatment options at length and he decided to proceed with ten IPS Empress veneers. As his smile showed back to the 2nd bicuspid, this involved teeth #4 – 13. The patient chose the Enhanced Smile Design for this case and a Diagnostic Wax-up was prepared by Aurum Ceramic/Classic. You could see the excitement building when the patient viewed the possible result at this stage. The Aurum Ceramic/Classic Advanced Esthetic (AE) Team provided the Prep Indices, Bite Stent and Temporary Stent based on the Wax-up and then crafted 10 beautiful veneers, which were seated during the last appointment.

This one of the most rewarding cases we have ever done! The final result caused an unbelievably dramatic change, not only in his smile, but also in his entire personality. His wife came in a few weeks after his final appointment and said ‘he has completely come out of his shell’. The patient himself was struck by the difference his new smile made, stating ‘I didn’t realize how many people looked at my teeth until I had this done. The number of compliments and questions about the change has been incredible!’”
