Since
their introduction in the early 1980's, the bonded porcelain veneer has
become a valuable treatment option for anterior teeth in most dental practices.
Long-term clinical studies have proven the success of porcelain veneers
as extremely esthetic and functional restorations in a wide range of case
situations. Aurum Ceramic's exclusive NaturalLook veneers are the
most innovative and technologically advanced all-ceramic veneers available
today. Individually crafted combining exacting build-up techniques with
the best in ceramic materials results in restorations with unsurpassed
translucency and vitality. Whether lengthening dentition, closing diastemas,
eliminating stains or establishing proper alignment, NaturalLook
veneers significantly enhance the appearance of your patient's smiles.
Truly Conservative
Modality
When compared to either PFM or all-ceramic crowns, bonded porcelain veneers
preserve far more healthy natural tooth structure. Normal tooth preparation
for a PFM crown involves labial surface reduction of 1.2 mm and 1.0 mm
on the lingual. All-ceramic restorations require 1.5 mm reduction circumferentially
around the tooth. With bonded veneers, only minimal reduction is required
on the labial surface. Most of the lingual surface usually remains untouched.
In all instances where sufficient tooth structure remains to provide adequate
support for the bonded porcelain, the incidence of fracture has been found
to be very low. Excellent Periodontal
Response
Porcelain veneer restorations blend perfectly with cervical tooth structure.
This allows the cervical margins to be kept in a supra-gingival position,
optimally in enamel. It should also be noted that, with today's dentin
bonding systems, margins can be placed on dentin/cementum when necessary.
Proper tooth preparation enhances periodontal response thus avoiding over-contouring. Superb Esthetic
Results
The exceptional covering ability of today's porcelain materials provide
highly esthetic results despite minimal reduction. Porcelain veneers exhibit
true color fluorescence that responds to changing environmental light
conditions just like the natural dentition. The lack of dark metallic
oxides (that would have to be masked by opaque porcelains) and the shade
enhancement available through the luting resin also help in achieving
truly natural-looking smiles. Veneers can also be successfully mixed and
matched with conventional PFM crowns when indicated. |
