- Laboratory crafted restoration can be permanently inserted with a
glass ionomer, BIS GMA luting composite or Modified BIS GMA's (e.g.,
Panavia 21). Do not use GIR or Resin reinforced Glass Ionomer Cements
with any all-ceramic restoration. Always follow the cement manufacturers
instructions.
- Internal surface of restoration must be sandblasted. Etching the restoration
will have no effect.
- Clean tooth preparation of all residual temporary cement.
- Seat restoration with finger pressure only. Check and adjust proximal
contacts if necessary.
- If crown fails to seat, use indicating material to determine binding
spots (low viscosity silicone material recommended). Place material
inside restoration and re-insert restoration with finger pressure. Once
material has set, remove restoration. Binding spots are now readily
identifiable, easily marked and quickly adjusted with standard diamond
tools. Remove silicone residue with acetone or methyl chloride.
- Cement with low viscosity mix and insure that there is an excess around
the entire periphery. Maintain firm pressure until set.
