1. Prior to preparation on extraction of tooth, take a quadrant impression using alginate, silicone or thermoplastic impression material. Remove the interdental gingival areas from this impression to provide bulk for the temporary restoration. In molar areas with absent teeth, create a ridge for pontic contact between the prepared teeth. When using a plastic template, pour model from impression. Fabricate a clear plastic matrix.
   
   
2. Select shade.
   
   
3. Dry prepared teeth and lightly lubricate prepared teeth and surrounding tissue with Vaseline or similar separating medium.
   
   
4. Fill the impression or template with Temporary Material and insert into the abutment teeth within 30 to 45 seconds. To prevent bubbles, dispense Temporary Material onto the occlusal surfaces first and then bring it gingivally, overbuilding it slightly.
   
   
5. Insert the impression or clear matrix (filled with Temporary Material) over the prepared teeth and hold firmly in place.
   
   NOTE: If a clear matrix is used, remove excess on the gingival area immediately with a non-metallic instrument.
   
   
6. The provisional crown or bridge can be easily removed (together with the impression from the prepared teeth) approximately 2.5 to 3 minutes from start of mix.
   
   NOTE: Curing process must be monitored closely as removal is only possible during this rubbery phase. Do not use bench cure to judge mouth cure.
   
   
7. Allow five additional minutes prior to trimming, contouring or polishing the temporary.
   
   NOTE: Use slow-speed acrylic burs and disks for shaping. Use high-speed finishing diamond burs in the mouth to adjust occlusion and for further adjustments.
   
   
8. Provisional crown or bridge can be luted with any temporary cement (automatically mixing temporary cements recommended).
   
   NOTE: Cements containing eugenol may inhibit polymerization of resin-based materials.
