"This attractive
18 year old female patient had lost an upper anterior incisor to
an ectopically erupting cuspid. Through orthodontic treatment, her
arch was aligned leaving a space in the lateral position. A pontic
tooth was placed on her retainer for cosmetic purposes but she requested
something more permanent. The adjacent youthful looking teeth would
not be duplicated satisfactorily through a conventional three-unit
bridge. The esthetics of an implant was rejected based on her high
smile line.
The state-of-the-art
solution was to provide small box preparations on the teeth adjacent
to the space and have Aurum Ceramic construct a Cristobal + pontic
with Vectris reinforcement, retained through bonding in the box
forms. The end result was outstanding. The patient had no postoperative
difficulties and the esthetic result left her ecstatic. The icing
on the cake was that this result was achieved with a color map through
a laboratory located thousands of miles away!

This treatment resulted
in a minimally invasive, long-term esthetic result that both the dentist
and the patient could be proud to have created."
