"This patient is a young male 38 years of age. He came into our office because of the broken 21. He gave a history of having numerous composite fillings which continuously fractured off. When talking about treatment options, his feelings of dislike for his entire smile became very clear. Although not a vain person, he expressed a real interest in having a nice smile.

I discussed the possibility of having the patient accompany me to an upcoming Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies anterior esthetic course as my 'live patient', a proposal that he agreed to quite readily. Treatment for this patient consisted of two weeks of 'home bleaching' with custom lightening trays and minor gingival recontouring around 13, 12, 11, 21, 22 and 23 with a diode soft tissue laser. The teeth were prepared for IPS Empress® veneers on teeth 14, 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, 23 and 24 during the initial visit to the Las Vegas Institute.
