“This new patient visited our practice drawn by an advertisement
placed in the WestJet inflight magazine by a group of Canadian
LVI graduates, including myself. His main concern was that his
teeth were dark and discolored and he really wanted to improve
the appearance of his smile. In addition, during the examination
we noted that he was missing several posterior teeth.
After completing a comprehensive examination and a full set
of diagnostic x-rays, we conducted a K-7 neuromuscular study.
We presented the results to the patient and suggested full mouth
reconstruction. However, he decided to restore only his upper
arch at this time, again because his overriding concern was the
overall appearance of his smile.
A Diagnostic Wax-up was prepared by Aurum Ceramic as per their
ACCES™ system, showing the patient his new smile. His upper
arch was then prepared and finished following the recommended
LVI protocol for aesthetic reconstruction with the Aurum Ceramic
Advanced Esthetic (AE) Team providing the Prep Indices, Bite
Stent and Siltec Provisional Stent. The upper arch was restored
with a combination of two all-ceramic Zirconia bridges and IPS
Empress veneers on the remaining teeth, all beautifully crafted
by Aurum Ceramic.
The patient was thrilled with the incredible change achieved
through the final restorations. As you can see in the After photo,
his smile now really “lights up” his face!
