“This patient was extremely unhappy with the condition
and appearance of her smile in every possible way with her short, misshapen,
stained and worn teeth. In addition, she exhibited a wide array of
symptoms of neuromuscular disharmony.
After completing a comprehensive examination and a full set of diagnostic
x-rays, we discussed full mouth reconstruction with her as a possible
solution to her dilemma, which she readily accepted.
We started by utilizing K-7 diagnostic software and a TENS unit to
determine her comfortable bite position. A Fixed LVI Orthotic was constructed
and placed for 90 days. Once we were sure her bite was stabilized and
comfortable, upper and lower Diagnostic Wax-ups (built to the new bite)
were prepared by Aurum Ceramic showing the patient her new smile. We
then prepared her upper arch using Prep Indices, Bite Stent and Siltec
Provisional Stent from Aurum Ceramic and restored the arch with IPS
Empress crowns and Contessa Zirconia bridges. Her lower arch was later
restored in a similar fashion. All the restorations were beautifully
crafted by Aurum Ceramic’s AE (Advanced Esthetic) team. One of
the aspects of this case which really made all the difference was the
soft tissue contouring of the maxillary arch and frenectomy, whose
impact is readily apparent in the After photographs! All of her neuromuscular
symptoms were relieved as well.
The patient was ecstatic with the final result: “This exceeded
my expectation beyond belief. It makes me look younger, feel younger
and I finally like what I see in the mirror!”
