Position Details:

HR Payroll Specialist

The Aurum Group is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, experienced payroll professional to join us as an HR Payroll Specialist. This position is responsible for providing support to the payroll and management team on payroll and HR manners.

This position requires a self-motivated individual that is efficient in their organizational skills and thrives in working in a team environment. The right candidates will hold their Payroll Certificate and have considerable experience in Human Resource practices.


Performance Requirements & Expectations:


· Strong attention to detail for accurate data entry

· Previous experience with Ceridian/Insync/Dayforce is an asset

· Exceptional communication skills and ability to work in a team

· Aware of confidential manners

· Rotating Scheduling: 7:00am to 4:00pm, 8:00am to 5:00pm, 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday

· Creative and Resourceful

· Strong organization and phone skills

· Ability to take initiative

· Strong sense of urgency

Skills & Qualifications:

Payroll and HR Responsibilities:


· Provide payroll support to the Payroll and Management team on ensuring all salaries/wages are paid accurately depending on each province and state legislation policies

· Collect and enter bi-weekly timecards and verify hours for each individual department

· Maintain, track, and provide reports on all vacation, attendance, and sick leave hours

· Assist with transfer, promotions, and termination of employees

· Support the management team with various HR functions, including appropriate resolutions and inquiries employees may have related to their pay


· Support and administer Human Resources

· Assist in the creation and maintenance of polices, employee handbook, job descriptions ect.

· Review and prepare employment contracts, offer letters and all relevant new hire paperwork in accordance with CLAC policies

· Prepare employment verification letters and confirm employment

· Administer the new employee on-boarding and orientation program

· Coordinate training programs for employee development

· Administer Group Benefit & Pension Plans

· Drafting employment agreements, employment offers, prepare new employee files and updating interval databases with personnel information


Education/License/Experience required:

· Canadian Payroll Certificate (CPC) (Strongly preferred)

· 1-3 years of payroll and benefit administration experience

· Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Human Resources
